Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt has a varied and diverse team working in our nursery. We value warmth, friendly personalities, caring natures and professionalism alongside expertise in our staff.

Our team

Everyone brings a particular skill or energy to the team and everyone who joins us embarks on a voyage of discovery with the children, but also in their own personal and professional development. Our team ethic is very much that we can never stop learning from each other in order to achieve our shared visions and goals. We provide regular support, training and development opportunities for all team members to learn and grow to be the best that they can be.

Our Nursery Manager at Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt is qualified to Level 5, all our senior staff are qualified Level 3 in Childcare and Education and our Nursery Assistants are level 2. Some of our junior staff are training to level 2 and 3 at present. We find it invaluable to train our own staff, as this way we ensure continuity of care for children and familiarity for our parents.

Monkey Puzzle Day Nurseries are committed to providing great career opportunities for its entire staff. We are very keen to ensure the majority of staff participate in training at all levels, this includes Paediatric First Aid, Food Hygiene, and Safeguard training as standard.

We are pleased that the majority of our staff have now successfully completed their Paediatric First Aid training. This by far exceeds Ofsted’s minimum requirements but we feel that it is important to ensure the safety of children in our care.

Manager – Sam

At Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt, we cherish the journey every child takes with us, and we hope that each one leaves us equipped with what we fondly refer to as the “Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt Backpack.” This backpack symbolises the skills, knowledge, and experiences we aim for every child to gather during their time here, empowering them as they transition into independent school life. We want the schools they move on to recognise them as distinct Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt children, showcasing the growth we’ve nurtured together.

Our approach at Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt is centred around understanding the uniqueness of each child. We embrace the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and focus on the characteristics of effective learning, which include: Playing and Exploring, Active Learning, and Creating and Thinking Critically

Monkey Puzzle Cheshunt expects a strong partnership between the nursery, staff, and parents to create a safe, supportive, and enriching environment for the children. We anticipate that staff will demonstrate a level of professionalism, empathy, and expertise in early childhood development. This includes providing individualised care, fostering positive relationships with each child, and effectively communicating with parents about their child’s progress and well-being. Staff are also proactive in creating stimulating learning experiences that cater to the diverse needs of children. We expect parents to be actively involved in their child’s learning journey, collaborating with the nursery to support developmental milestones and adhere to the policies and practices in place. This collaborative approach ensures that children receive the highest standard of care and education, promoting their emotional, social, and cognitive development in a nurturing, well-structured setting.
